Other Uses for Aluminum Foil

{How cute is this dog}
*Make cute hats for your dog! ;)

*Keep birds out of your fruit trees. Hang twisted strips of aluminum all over your fruit trees using fishing line. The light reflections and the sound will keep birds away from your fruit.
*Re-soften hard brown sugar. Many people put hard brown sugar in the microwave to soften it up, but this can actually backfire and make the sugar harden even more. Instead, wrap the block of hardened sugar in some aluminum foil and bake in a 300° (Fahrenheit) oven for 5 minutes.

*Put a wadded-up ball of aluminum foil in your dryer with a load of clothes to reduce static cling.
*When ironing, put a piece of aluminum foil under the ironing board cover. The foil will reflect the heat from the iron so you can essentially iron both sides at once.
*To keep your silver jewelry from turning, put a small piece of tinfoil in each jewelry box.
*A cake decorating tube - shape heavy-duty aluminum foil into a cone or tube with a small opening at one end and a larger opening at the other. Pour frosting into larger end and squeeze out the smaller end.

*When your scissors get dull, I layer about 7 pieces of foil and cut through them, and the scissors are sharp once again.

*Ball up some foil and use it to clean the gunk off your grill . It cleans just as well as a wire scrub brush.
*Use foil to start your seedlings.
*Place a piece of foil under the napkin in the serving basket and hot rolls will stay warm longer.
**To stave off hunger in a hotel room when traveling, buy bread, cheese and aluminum foil. Make a cheese sandwich, wrap it in foil, then press it with a travel iron. In minutes you’ll have a toasted, melted cheese sandwich. {How Clever}
*Protect hardware from paint
*Scrub glass or metal bakeware clean
If you have any more tips...add them in your comments! I would love to hear them!!!

I never knew you could put tin foil in the dryer ... makes sense, I'm sure I've left a gum wrapper or ten in my pockets through the wash - but I would have thought it'd blow up (kinda like microwaves.) LOL! Thanks for the great list ... who knew?

Oooo, oooo, oooo! I forgot about paint! LOL! Ok, the color in the sunroom is called Restful, it's a Behr color, and available (as of about a month ago) at Home Depot. I paint everything except bathrooms and kitchens in Flat. I like Behr, but recently I repainted my guest bedroom, and I came across a really saturated gray/taupe color that looks wonderful in there. It's Valspar, which is the brand of paint that Lowes carries. Anyway - it went on like a dream! One coat, over a darker green color, and it's (I know this sounds funny) actually very EASY to paint with! You know how sometimes paint can be too thick, or too watery, and it gets sloppy, and you get streaks and runs and what not? Well with the Valspar that I used for the guestroom, none of that. It's like - the perfect consistency, so if I were you, I'd go with Valspar. Unfortunately, color matching really isn't perfect - so you if you like the color of the sunroom, then get Behr, it's a good paint too. The color of the living room is Promenade (Behr), and the dining room is Grasshopper Wing (Behr). ;) Hope it helps - and thanks for all of your fab. comments on my spaces.

My favorite one is making the sandwich in the hotel room. Love that. So cool. I would look so creative if I did that-so, thanks for the image!

HA! I love all the suggestions. I could have used the aluminum foil bird repellant idea. That was genius.

Hmmmm.... good uses for tin foil! Love the ironing one. I hate ironing. If it makes it faster, I'm all for it!

I put bread in my brown sugar. Like the dryer tip. I can't use the dryer sheets because my oldest breaks out in the occasional rash.
