Some More Inspiration and Your Opinions Needed

We are really focusing on trying to get the kitchen done first. But I need some advice. These pictures have something that I like in each of them, I just need some advice!
Question #1? Do you think a creamy off-white would last style wise?
Question #2? Do you like underneath the base of the cooktop how it looks like furniture?

Above: I really like the pull knobs.

Question # 3? Do you think it is wise to encase the vent above the stove like this picture below?

Question # 4? Do you think this cabinet style will last style wise?

Above: I love the spindle holding the breakfast bar. And the bar stools too.

Above: No you are not seeing double...the one thing I really like about this kitchen is the window, the shade on the window, and the small chandelier?

Above: I absolutley do not like these colors but my idea for a cost effective backspack was doing beadboard matching the cabinet color.

If you had to choose a backsplash which one would you choose?

1. Painted Beadboard
2. Painted faux brick

I thought that I would through in a few pictures that I came across for bathrooms and laundry room.

Thanks for looking and thanks in advance if you leave me some of your opinions! Have a wonderful weekend.

I love every picture you posted. Love the white cabinets. If it does go out of style or you get tired of the color, nothing that a can of paint can't change. Love how the stove looks like furniture and yes, I think those cabinets will last style wise. Oh, love the pull knobs too.

I love the beadboard and white cabinet look. I have that in my house but I have all open cabinets. There is a picture of it under "Spring Decorating" in my blog. I like it alot, but the only downside to the beadboard is that it can be a pain to clean. I cook a lot and when stuff splatters back there the little crevices can be hard to clean out. If you choose to do it, I would definitely paint it with a glossy paint, so it wipes up easy. Other than that, I like it and think it has a clean comfortable look.

LOVE the off white color of the cabinets and under the cooktop...that's creative. I like the encasing the vent but would it be easy to clean.
LOVE the painted beadboard. I never thought of that but it's adorable.

Some great inspiration photos! When we were updating our kitchen I went back and forth then ended up doing something completely different than I originally thought.

I like the painted beadboard for a backsplash. I love the look of the enclosed venthood and the furniture look at the bottom of cabinets. Very elegant.

I think the cabinet style and off white color would definitely be something that looks pretty timeless. Love the pull knobs like in the picture! I don't know what the logistics are about enclosing the vent but it looks good! lol The furniture look under the stovetop is nice too.

1. Cream is timeless, go for it.
2. yes
3. no - fire safety (flames go up) and cleaning it may be a pain.
4. yes

Love the chandelier idea
I would go for painted bead board for the back splash.

I can't wait to see this when it's finished!

Ok my head is hurting to many choices!!!! Ha! Ha! I like the white open layouts. The built in vent is pretty cool - I bet it would be easier to keep clean. Ni sure if I like the spinals on the bar - I know be I would hit it all the time and have a permanent BRUISE! LOL! I like the painted bead board the best. WHEW! I am so glad these decisions are in my past! Lucky you - HA!HA!

Oh my! Those are to die for. If I had a kitchen like that I know it would always look that way because I don't cook. Lol. Thankfully, I have a hubby that LOVEs to do all the cooking.

Yes to off white cupboards, and I love the furniture look under the stove.

I think the beadboard looks cool, but I would soooo hate to clean it, and that part of the counter can get MESS-Y!

I don't know about the vent encasement...it looks great, I don't know what the pros or cons could be.

Also, nothing lasts style-wise. Remember like 30 years ago (you're prob not that old...I'm only 32, but I know from pictures!) dark dark wood, and cherry wood was all the high style....then in the 80's and 90's that was sooo dated and oak was in? Now the dark wood and painted cabinets are the style again. Just pick what you love, and if you stop lovin' it...change it when you can!

I love all the pics, but I love the more traditional ones - I think the style just lasts and lasts and is a good base for adding accents throughout the years. It also gives just enough detail that the kitchen never looks boring or plain. Good luck with everything!

I think the cabinet style and colours that you are looking at are traditional and timeless classics! I love them too!!

The oven is adorable. But I couldn't help thinking of the toys and other stuff that might end up underneath! lol! But maybe if there was a way to get under, or block the opening so it isn't longer than your arm...Can you tell I've had to pull out my own appliances to find lost things?!

Go with the beadboard. That is a cool idea...I never would have thought of it!

And I totally agree with you about the kitchen with the big window. I can see myself spending a lot of time in that kitchen...dreaming...

1- I think cream would last- plus you can paint pretty cheap and easy later.
2- Love it!
3-I have no idea.
4- I think the cabinets could last if you had a cottage theme in the house. you know? I have been thinking the same things.

P.S. I love everything about that first laundry room pic.

I agree with Xazmin.... you can do whatever you like. In 10 years you'll want to change it again anyway!

I kind of like the venting above the stove exposed though. I prefer the beadboard to the faux brick. The spindle is great and cream is classic. The furniture look is gorgeous. All of your ideas looked great. I can't wait to see the end product.

I love, love, love those pictures! If I had it to do all over again, I would go with white cabinets. I think they are classic and will never go out of style. My sister has a enclosed vent like the one you showed, and she loves it. She put a little chalkboard on the front and it's so cute. She writes different things like Happy Birthday or recently she had a Twilight party and put that on the chalkboard. Plus, if you go with white, you can always paint your walls different colors to change things up. Also, I love the beadboard idea, I would do that over the faux bricks.

I love the white and black bathroom but it's a shame to have the sink off to the side and not underneath that gorgeous window and chandalier. I'm the type who likes to look out the window while doing dishes or at least have really good lighting.

We are looking for a new house, and seriously the FIRST thing I always look at is the kitchen! Those pictures just make me drool. THANKS for all the ideas!

I love the first picture. I love how the stove has a cabinet under it. I would want my hood enclosed. Love the faux brick over the beadboard. I think it gives the white cabinets a great contrast.

Ok - lets see. #1, I think that the light cream painted cabinetry will last you through fads and trends, mine are cream, and I love them! #2, this one's too late, but LOVE the cabinet doors! LOVE LOVE LOVE them! You and the hubs did a great job! #3, I think that if you're trying to build a kitchen that will last through trends, and not be a part of a trend, then beadboard is the way to go. Painted brick is beautiful - I especially love it when lye is used to patina them just slightly, so that some of the clay color still shines through the white (Ah, perfection!!) but this will not always be envogue! You'll be better off with the beadboard, painted either the color of your cabinets, or a color very vastly different, like chocolate brown, navy blue, black, etc. This will allow you the ability to change things up down the road, as well! Love Love Love the beadboard idea. #4, The little chandelier and roman blind is a great idea - and changing out your two kitchen windows for one larger one is also magnificently brilliant! I think I got them all ... but I mighta missed one. Hope I helped! :)
